How to Read the Anytime TD Stats
Anytime TD betting sounds simple — the player either scores or does not — but different touchdown stats tell you different things. Total touchdowns, games with a touchdown and touchdowns per game should not be treated as interchangeable.

The difference between total touchdowns and games with a touchdown is especially important.
Imagine a player scores 12 touchdowns across 17 games, but those touchdowns come in only nine different games. His total is 12, while an Anytime TD bet would have won in nine of 17 games — a hit rate of approximately 52.9%.
That does not mean the player has a 52.9% chance of scoring in his next game. It simply describes what happened over that particular sample.

The top of the 2025 leaderboard was dominated by running backs. Jonathan Taylor finished with 20 offensive touchdowns, followed by Jahmyr Gibbs with 18, Christian McCaffrey with 17 and Derrick Henry with 16.
They did not all get there in the same way. Taylor scored 18 rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns. Gibbs combined 13 rushing scores with five receiving touchdowns, while McCaffrey scored 10 on the ground and seven through the air.
The players tied on 14 touchdowns also show why scoring role matters. Davante Adams reached 14 entirely through receiving touchdowns, while Josh Allen scored 14 rushing touchdowns from the quarterback position.

The leaderboard is useful, but total touchdowns alone should not decide an Anytime TD bet.

What Counts as an Anytime Touchdown?
An Anytime Touchdown Scorer bet normally wins when your selected player is credited with a qualifying touchdown at any point during the game.
The most important rule to remember is that a quarterback does not score a touchdown simply by throwing a touchdown pass.
If a quarterback throws a touchdown to a receiver, the receiver is credited as the touchdown scorer. The quarterback can cash an Anytime TD bet by rushing the ball into the end zone or otherwise scoring the touchdown himself.
Rushing Touchdowns

How to Use the Stats to Pick an Anytime TD Scorer
The most useful approach is to use the table to build a shortlist, then check whether the player’s current role and matchup support what the historical numbers are showing.
1. Look at How Often the Player Actually Scores
For an Anytime TD bet, consistency matters. A player who scored in 11 separate games can have a different profile from somebody with the same total touchdown count concentrated into six or seven games.
That is why player-level hit rate is particularly useful when it is available.
2. Check the Player’s Current Role
Touchdowns usually follow opportunities, and the most valuable opportunities tend to happen close to the goal line.

5. Check Injuries and Depth-Chart Changes
Touchdown opportunity can change faster than season-long statistics.
If a starting running back is unavailable, another player may suddenly inherit goal-line work. An injured receiver can redirect red-zone targets toward another WR or tight end.
Current role should therefore always be checked alongside historical results.
6. Consider the Expected Scoring Environment
A game expected to produce more touchdowns naturally creates more opportunities for individual scorers.
The game total, team total and expected game script can all provide useful context, although none of them tells you which player will score.
7. Compare the Odds
The final question is not simply whether you think the player will score. It is whether the odds are good enough for the chance you believe that player has.
A strong statistical profile may already be reflected in a very short price. Likewise, a bigger number is not automatically good value simply because the potential payout is larger.
How to Read Anytime TD Odds
Anytime TD markets use the same American odds format as other NFL bets. Converting the price into implied probability gives you a common scale for comparing the sportsbook price with the player’s scoring record.

Implied probability = 100 ÷ (odds + 100)
For negative American odds:

The result is not the player’s true probability of scoring because sportsbook margin is built into the market. It simply makes the price easier to compare with the historical data.
Why Anytime TD Hit Rate Is Not a Prediction
If a player scored in 60% of his previous games, it does not follow that he has exactly a 60% chance of scoring today.
Historical hit rate describes what happened. The next matchup can involve a different defense, teammates, injury situation, workload and game script.
The more useful questions are:
- Has the player’s role become stronger or weaker?
- Is his goal-line or red-zone usage still similar?
- Does this opponent allow the type of touchdown he normally scores?
- Has an injury changed who receives the valuable touches?
- Has the sportsbook already shortened the odds because of recent scoring form?
- Is another sportsbook offering a better price on the same player?
Those questions usually tell you more than simply betting whoever happened to score last week.

Different positions create touchdown opportunities in different ways, so it helps to avoid comparing every player as though his role were identical.
Running Backs
Running backs often have the clearest route to repeated scoring when they control goal-line carries. Volume inside the five-yard line is normally more relevant to an Anytime TD bet than overall rushing yardage.

Wide Receivers
